National EMS First Responder Week

National EMS Week: Honoring First Responders

National EMS Week is May 21-27; this is a week established by President Ford to honor First Responders and EMS practitioners for all that they do to protect the nation. This year marks the 43rd annual celebration of National EMS Week, the theme of this year being “Always in Service” – a fitting theme, due to the fact that EMS must be prepared for emergencies of any scale, 24/7.

First Responders in communities across the nation are planning events based on daily themes:

  • Monday, May 22: Education Day
  • Tuesday, May 23: Safety Day
  • Wednesday, May 24: EMS for Children Day
  • Thursday, May 25: Save-a-Life Day
  • Friday, May 26: EMS Recognition Day
